How do I request a book or article from the North Boomer Annex or the Library Auxiliary Building (LAB)?

The North Boomer Annex and the Library Auxiliary Building are off-site shelving facilities for the Library. They contain selected books, journals, documents and other materials from the OSU Library collections. Items include those too fragile or brittle to remain in the circulating collection; selected papers, photographs or other materials from Special Collections and University Archives; articles from print journals that are available electronically; older OSU theses and dissertations; and infrequently used books and journals.

Upon request, the Library will provide access to materials in the North Boomer Annex as follows:

  • Articles: If the request is for an article or selected pages from a book, we will provide electronic scans of these documents, unless otherwise requested.
  • Books: If the request is for the entire book or for a large number of pages, these will be delivered to the Circulation Desk for pick up.
  • Fragile and/or non-circulating materials: If the request is for material that has been designated as fragile and/or non-circulating, the material will be made available for consultation in the Special Collections & University Archives department in the Edmon Low Library.

Requests for both Annex or LAB materials may be made electronically by completing the appropriate request forms.
