What are "special collections"?
- Special Collections & University Archives consists of collections that represent selected and donated material focusing on the history of Oklahoma State University, its employees and graduates. Rare books, manuscripts, photographs and research material related to Oklahoma women, history, politics, business and natural resources have also been acquired.
- Oklahoma Oral History Research Program documents and makes accessible the history of Oklahoma and OSU through oral history interviews.
- Maps and Spatial Data receives print and digital maps produced by the U.S. Geological Survey, Census Bureau, Forest Service, National Park Service and many other federal agencies. The unit also houses city and state highway maps and state topographic maps. The collection includes a large historical set of aerial photographs of most Oklahoma counties.
- Government Documents at Oklahoma State University is a regional depository library for U.S. Government publications which are primary sources and cover all subject areas. Materials are retained permanently as part of the agreement with the U.S. Publishing Office. The department also collects Oklahoma and other state publications, government publications from other countries, and international agency publications including the United Nations, the International Monetary Fund, and the World Bank.
