When I try to access the PDF full-text of articles using Consensus, I can't get them or it sends me to the OSU-CHS medical library and I can't log in.

The issue is likely that your institutional location setting in Consensus is set to the OSU Center for Health Sciences.

Fix: PDF Links in Consensus not working/showing wrong institution (OSU-CHS) for OSU-Stillwater users

If it shows Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences, open the dropdown and select "None" (Note that OSU-Stillwater does not currently appear on this list - see below for more info)

Once that's fixed:

When you are on-campus, or logged into off-campus library access, PDF links in Consensus will typically open when OSU subscribes to that content or when that content is Open Access (OA)

If OSU doesn't subscribe to a journal or if the link still won't work, use Interlibrary Services to request

Why some PDF links never work, even when logged in:

Consensus doesn't provide full-text access itself — it only points to content that exists elsewhere
What it finds comes from its own data sources and publisher agreements, not from what OSU pays for

So the full-text PDF for some results will always be inaccessible through Consensus (or Google Scholar, Elicit, Undermind, etc.) simply because we don't have a subscription; this isn't a settings issue, it's a licensing gap.To suggest a journal subscription, please complete this form

Coming soon: OpenURL Integration

Consensus is expected to add OpenURL support, which would let users associate their account with OSU Stillwater specifically
This is not available yet. Right now the only institution option that appears is OSU-CHS, which is why the workaround above (selecting "None") is necessary
Once OpenURL is live, it should route users directly to our subscribed content automatically, resolving much of this confusion
We'll update this guidance once that feature is released
