How do I reserve the Peggy V. Helmerich Browsing Room?
The Peggy V. Helmerich Browsing Room, located on the east side of the second floor, is available on a limited basis for special functions that support the University's mission. The room will be available for groups larger than 30, if your request is for fewer guests, please request the event room.
- The room is available during operation hours.
- The room is not available during Dead Week or Finals Week.
- There will be no charge for OSU-affiliated groups. Exceptions are reoccuring events or customized set-up.
- Recurring events are limited to two Browsing Room reservations per semester.
- Approval or denial of requests will follow established university library policies and will include consideration of other space and staffing demands.
Responsibility of the Users
- Submit request form no less than 2 weeks prior to the event date.
- Currently, food and drinks are discouraged. If you choose to have refreshments, ensure any food or drink provided has been approved by the Library and complies with university policies.
- Accept responsibility for a fine assessed if furnishings or equipment in the room are moved. Any rearrangments of furnishings must be done by Library personnel.
- Accept responsibility for any injuries to persons or damages to the facility, including damage to the laptop or projector, and any necessary cleaning.
Failure to Carry Out Responsibilities
Any individual or group failing to carry out these responsibilities may be denied further use of the Peggy V. Helmerich Browsing Room and may incur charges related to damages or staff time.
Standard Room Set Ups
Option 1: Includes podium, sound system and 50 chairs oriented with audience facing south.
Option 2: Includes podium, sound system and 50 chairs oriented with audience facing east.
