The OOHRP uses a variety of methods to determine what areas of research to focus on. The common thread in all new projects are a) that there are still people who are living to interview about the topic, b) the topic isn’t heavily documented in publicly accessible archives or research collections, and c) that it is a relevant and important topic to Oklahoma history, industry, or culture.
